Google Classroom is a free communications and organization tool. With Classroom, teachers can easily manage assignments and communicate with students and their guardians in one convenient place. Also, teachers and students can work anywhere, anytime, and on any device. Classroom seamlessly integrates with other Google tools, such as Google Docs or even YouTube. Teachers can upload any type of file, including Microsoft Office files, PDFs, videos, songs, and URLs. In addition, educators can provide instant feedback in the STREAM and track a student’s progress to improve performance. With its simple interface, students as young as second grade can use it independently. Despite the simple design, only students in grades 5-8 are expected to log in daily to manage their workload. Parents/guardians of students in grades PK-4 will need to log in daily to assist their child. Thus, SPX will no longer post daily homework assignments in PlusPortals; PlusPortals should just be used to check grades and attendance as well as access the Directory.
