Religion is a part of daily life at St. Pius X. Regular Mass attendance and class participation in the preparation of liturgies is a treasured part of the religious education program. The school community strives to provide an environment to nurture and empower each child to live a faith-centered life and grow into a respectful, responsible, and caring Christian young adult.
Our program welcomes students in one full-day class. The 8:10 am to 2:30 pm session features reading readiness, spiritual, and social development. The Pre-K class has a supervised dedicated play area that is separate from the main playground.
Our two Kindergarten classes welcome 25 students in each of these full-day classes. The 8:10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. sessions feature reading readiness, spiritual, and social development.
Parent involvement makes St. Pius X Regional School unique. The school recognizes that parents are the first and most important teachers of the children. The HSA and the School Advisory Board are examples of how the faculty, principal, pastor and parents come together to provide service and vision for the children and the school community.
A licensed extended-care program staffed by members of the faculty is available to St. Pius families. The program provides quality care and supervision for students in grades Pre-K - 8 before and after school hours. The program includes homework time, supervised free play, and snacks. It is available for a modest fee.
To attend to the daily needs of the students there is a health room that is staffed full-time by a registered nurse. Educational specialists and a full-time counselor are available to observe and consult with families regarding any possible educational or learning difficulties. Special programs and activities are held to educate students on fire safety, dental hygiene, and the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse. A school-sponsored safety patrol program provides students with a safe arrival and departure from school.
