What is Math-a-thon?
Math-a-thon is one of the St. Pius X Regional Schools major fundraisers. Students complete math problems, collect sponsor donations and win great prizes. The HSA uses the money for the current school year to fund important educational tools like teacher grants, student scholarships, school assemblies, and other school enrichment activities.
Everyone participates! This is a whole-school fundraiser–not just a math event for math students! From February 2, 2017 - March 2, 2017 students ask family and friends to sponsor them for participating in this event. Students take home or complete a math packet at school beginning February 2, 2017. The completed math packet is due by February 23, 2017 to their homeroom teacher.
What can parents do to help?
You can help your child recruit sponsors, and sponsor your child yourself. You can also help your child complete the math packet. Please help your child remember to return math packets on February 23, 2017 and collected donations on Pi Day, March 14, 2017.
As many of you know both large corporations as well as small companies will often make matching donations for fundraisers, so please check with your employer to see if this is an option and will match your donation.
In order to qualify for the individual and class prizes, all money must be turned in no later than March 14, 2017. All money turned in will be credited toward your family’s Financial Support Obligation (FSO).
Is there a fundraising goal?
Our goal is to have every student participate!
